Some background to the event this is about. In Chamberlain, a group of students wanted to play an honor song at the high school graduation. The school board said they couldn’t since there was already a graduation related even for Native American students, a feathering ceremony. In the end they ended up playing the honor song outside the graduation as a form of protest against the decision.

I’m posting this article mostly because I appreciate how he address various concerns (people who didn’t want the honor song played) and how they don’t really make sense. Like the idea that having more than one cultural event in a school whose population is about 1/3 Native American would somehow be threatening white culture. Um, no that isn’t even possible.

I had a tick the other day and I was so sad. I only spent like five minutes outside too.

I might be imaging it but I think there’s way more ticks than normal. My dog (Maddie) has had 2 and my mom found one on her, all in the span of 2 weeks or so. Or maybe they there are just more ticks on our property. I’m not sure but I don’t like it - ticks are gross.
